This Company Laptop Use Agreement sets forth an employeeâ€™s responsibilities when
using a company laptop. This agreement includes all the necessary terms, such as
usage terms, verification check, equipment use and alterations, equipment support, and
loss and damage. It contains both standard clauses as well as opportunities for
customization to ensure that the policy of the company is properly set forth. This policy

This Laptop Usage Agreement (this â€œAgreementâ€) is made by and between _________________

the bottom of this Agreement working with the company (â€œEmployeeâ€).
1. Usage Terms
As part of this Agreement, Company will provide the Employee with the use of a laptop
computer and accessories (collectively, the â€œEquipmentâ€), as further identified at the bottom
of the Agreement below the signatures.
The term of this Agreement is for ____ [one (1)]. [Comment: this number can be any

2. Verification Check
Employee agrees to submit, and shall return the Equipment on demand to Company for
verification checks by Company. These checks may be conducted from time to time by
Company to verify inventory/asset information. Company will send an email notice of the
verification check to Employee.
Failure to comply by the requested date set forth in the verification check notice may result in
termination of this Agreement and ineligibility of the Employee for future use of Company
provided laptop computer and related equipment.

3. Equipment Use and Alterations
Employee shall, use the Equipment in a careful and lawful manner and shall not make any
alterations, additions, or improvements to the Equipment without prior written consent of
Company. Prohibited alterations include, but are not limited to, (i) the addition of memory or
input/output (I/O) devices provided, however, Employee shall be allowed to attach audio
devices to the audio input/output port and CD-Rom, disk or other storage device to the USB
input/out port, and (ii) _________________ [Instructions: insert any additional specific
restrictions]. Should additions and/or improvements be made to the Equipment, other than
the audio and storage devices permitted in the preceding sentence, such
additions/improvements will become the property of Company.
Employee is responsible for licensing any additional software installed on the Equipment.
Employee shall not, remove or alter any Company identification labels that are attached to or
displayed on the Equipment.
4. Equipment Support
Maintenance of the Equipment and technical support to Employee for the Equipment is
provided in accordance with the instructions (the â€œMaintenance Instructionsâ€) set forth in
Attachment 1 to this Agreement (attached hereto and incorporated herein) [Comment: user
may remove this section if Maintenance Instructions do not exist]. Employee shall follow
the Maintenance Instructions for any problems with or the maintenance of the Equipment.
5. Loss and Damage
Employee shall take reasonable and prudent care to maintain the Equipment in good
condition and protect it from loss, theft, or damage. Employee shall bear the risk for lost,
stolen, or damaged Equipment and components from the date Employee receives delivery of
the Equipment until the return of the Equipment to Company.
Employee agrees to report all incidents of theft of or deliberate damage to the Equipment

but can be any number the user chooses] hours of Employeeâ€™s knowledge of the loss to
their local law enforcement. Company and Employee shall cooperate fully with the
appropriate local law enforcement agencies in completing all necessary reports.
Employee is ultimately responsible for any damage to or loss/theft of the Equipment while in
Employee shall pay Company for any repair/replacement costs for damage to the Equipment

6. Assignment and Compliance with Applicable Law and Policy
Employee shall not, assign, pledge, or transfer any interest in this Agreement or in the
Equipment, including all attachments and components.
Employee shall not lend the Equipment to another for his/her individual use.
Employee shall comply with and adhere to the Company User Guidelines (FAQâ€™s) for the
Equipment as set forth in Attachment 2 (attached hereto and incorporated
